The next walk is on Tuesday 11 August, starting at 10am from Hall Lane Haigh WN1 2SE.

To get to Hall Lane take the road from Wigan that goes past the Royal Edward Infirmary..

Just after passing the hospital get ready to turn right onto Leyland Mill Lane. Follow the lane and at the small roundabout go straight across and join Hall Lane.

Park anywhere that is free but the walk will start at the end of the yellow lines.

There are no stiles but there is a gradual lenghtly uphill walk to the Stables cafe area for refreshments and toilets. The paths are all quite good but walking through wooded areas it might be lumpy underfoot or muddy. Walking back is downhill and we pass 20 bridges and through the undergrowth you might see the Duggie.

Distance is 3.8 mils approx and we should be back at Hall Lane between 12.30 and 1pm
